TE Sneak Peek Day 2: Happy Meow-loween Bag

It's day 2 of sneak peeks for the August release from Taylored Expressions!!  We have more Halloween today with each designer creating a fun gift option.

Be sure to checkout all of the other designers starting on the Taylored Expressions blog because there is just too much for one designer to show off in just a few days. All the products that I have used are linked at the bottom, but remember that new products aren't available until Thursday, August 4th, 7 a.m. PST.

Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways! Visit the TE blog to answer Taylor's Question of the Day for a chance to win a prize from the latest release.

I've generally not done many 3D projects like gift bags, but that has been changing over the last few years with the advent of dies that make it so incredibly easy.  Today I am using Tagging Along. With one sheet of 8 1/2x11 paper, you die-cut two pieces, score on the fold lines and adhere.  How simple is that?!  I used the Tag Stacklets 1 die to make the window - it's sized perfectly.  (The Tag Stacklets die that is one size bigger than my window is also perfect for adding a background instead of a window. You'll see that as you pop around to the rest of the design team.)

The real reason for making the bag was to show off the Critters in Costume (previously released) and the brand new coordinating dies!!  The sentiment comes from the brand new set Boo to You. How perfect to have "Happy Meow-loween"!

TE Happy Meow-loween

I love cute Halloween projects.  In my own life, I have nieces who don't do scary.  I also take cards to the church for our donation rack; they are OK with Halloween as long as it's not creepy.  This bag may actually end up with my 16-year old son who likes our two cats more than he likes the rest of us! Besides these two cats are perfect for us - we have a big sweet one with a bit a blank look just like the one behind the pumpkin and we have a feisty trickster who would be in the ghost costume.  FYI - the ghost costume isn't necessarily a cat; the set actually comes with dogs and cats - but I'm still calling it a cat.

I may give it to my son, but I'll have to replace the candy. I loved working on today's project because it required that I get some candy corn and I love candy corn.  I got a big bag a few weeks ago and made the mistake of opening it. When I got around to making this project, it was touch and go as to whether I had enough to fill the box.  Do you see what's in the picture - that's all there was left - and it will be long gone by the time you read this.

SUPPLY LIST

FYI: Tagging Along and Tag Stacklets 1 are previously released dies so are available now!!  Critters in Costume is available but you'll have to wait until Thursday to get the dies.

  2. You're so funny. My darling friend Jen is crazy for candy corn, and will sneak all of it out of her kids trick or treat bags! The critters are darling, and I love that they have dies! Sooo convenient when stamping smaller images like this. GREAT tag-bag in fantastic colors. Love this project. Bev
